The beginning

A life shaped by fire

Glass remembers,
so we work slowly.

Aurora began with Wyatt Bouchard, a glass artist from Belleville, Ontario, Canada, who saw molten glass as liquid starlight.

Raised between his father's welding shop and his mother's ceramics studio, he learned early that making is a way of paying attention. At twenty, he began working in borosilicate glass—repeating the same cycle of flame, rotation, heat, and cooling until the material began to speak back.

Years later, a workshop fire reduced his equipment and archives to fragments. He rebuilt with borrowed tools in a small garage, one piece at a time. The lesson stayed with him: there is no shortcut to work that carries a maker's hand.

Born in fire. Shaped by patience. Inspired by the North. Every piece moves through heat and hand in its own way. The artist guides the form, but the glass keeps a little wildness of its own. No moulds. No production line. No way to rush the result.
